[Article] How I Healed From Crohns Disease

First, let me preface this by saluting everyone world wide who is fighting the good fight against crohns disease. I was diagnosed in 2015, after years of medication for a mystery illness affecting my joints, eyes, and skin. The disease affects everyone differently, and can be super difficult to cope with. I came across this article/blog by Meghan Telpner on some tools she used in her healing journey. There is no cure for crohns (they say), but I believe in the healing and transforming of lives through the human spirit and the power of the most high God. Check out the article, and notice how much of these practices could be beneficial to your everyday life regardless of your situation. Spread light! #DoItNow

{Poem} Rays of God

I saw rays of God through my front door and instantly wanted to worship him. Not a variety of hues around me; only yellows and oranges…the color of hope.

WHY am I up so early? I’m off work and even the busy streets surrounding me are all null/none/nari.

My body feels alive as it is welcoming oxygen in every part that was stiff from last nights death. No breaks from this fast yet. No hydration or vitamins to combat the decay.

I give in to the urges of cat like stretches and yawns; my bones creak, my muscles thank me. My skin is dry and smooth as I run my fingers across my arms. My hair a wooley mess…a mane I’ll never tame.

Through my door I still see God seeping in. I hear him in the silence. I feel him in the not so warm spring breeze. I know him. I want to worship him.

God’s Not Dead

alive

It appears to me that a celebration is in order. In lieu of Good Friday and the entire splendor that comes with it, I’d like to share my thoughts on a movie I just watched a few days ago on Netflix entitled God’s Not Dead. The movie was released in 2014, but I just caught wind of it through a friend.

In the film, a Christian student by the name of Josh Wheaton, was attending a University and taking a philosophy class. The teacher, Professor Radisson, expected each student to denounce God in an attempt to “free them” of religious oppression. Noble idea…but who cares if your students believe in God, right? In any event, Josh felt that it was his place to defend God, and tried to convince his fellow students of God’s existence. I’m not going to ruin the movie for you, but feel free to watch it for yourself and give me your thoughts.

Rotten tomatoes gave the movie one star. I’m so surprised.

It is my understanding that people all over the world get persecuted for their beliefs daily. I still am having a hard time understanding why. In my humble opinion, it all comes down to minding your business and respecting other people’s beliefs.Right?

I guess my question is what’s wrong with believing in a God who is alive? Where have we gone wrong to shun people for believing in God? Why must we bash people who don’t believe in God?

With all of that being said, I think the movie God’s Not Dead was a tear jerker and a great watch. Yes, I am a Christian, but I think that people should stand up for whatever they believe in.We are all a part of the human race, and all of our journies are quite similar. Spread love, damnit.

Today, I celebrate the death of Christ and his resurrection respectively. Happy Good Friday; Love one another.

Peace and Blessings
