[New EP] 60 East & Ariano- Circles EP

Rejoice! New music from 60 East and Ariano with The Circles EP. The southern California artists combine lyrical content over stone solid production. In my opinion, this seems like a more personal effort from 60, as most of the tracks can relate to most people at different periods of time. Conceptually, the project takes on the positives and negatives of life and how everything comes full circle. I love the instrumentation and good vibes that this project presents. Two of the stand out tracks on the project are I Will, featuring Ariano’s son, Sage Price, and of course The Light. Don’t take my word for it, check it out yourself! Don’t be afraid to show your love by visiting the website  and getting familiar with the twitter pages Ariano and 60 East

[Video] Kis Da Ms Menace- Remember That

New visuals from your girl Kis Da Ms Menace. The DC native never disappoints, as she demonstrates her lyrical skill in the heart of Brooklyn. We have to support our femcees in a culture where males tend to dominate the rap game. Check out the video and show your support by visiting her site phokisphilms.com and dropping her a line. #letsgo #doitnow

Janelle Monae- Dirty Computer [Emotion Picture]

This is the time where we rejoice.

Janelle Monae is back with her short film (emotion picture) Dirty Computer. Yes fandroids, the album is out and doing record numbers, but we all know to expect Jane to give us food for thought. We expect entertainment. We expect art. She doesn’t disappoint as she returns as 57821, a person who doesn’t fit into society’s small box. She is a rebel (of course) and the short film tackles MUCH of the issues many of us face today. I won’t give away too much, but I suspect that this emotion will spark all types of conversations. At least…I hope it will. Pay attention to some of the symbolism and keep your third eye open. Pretty interesting stuff.

Show your support by buying the album available everywhere music can be found.

[Video] Childish Gambino- This Is America

New visuals from Donald Glover. I like to over analyze music videos and concepts, so I had many ideas when watching this. Gambino is known for pushing the envelope musically, so it’s no surprise that he needed to get this message across. Let me know your thoughts via twitter @Dropajewel and enjoy.

[Article] The most violent city in nearly every US state, according to the FBI

When I read this headline, I already knew what the number one city would be. I wont be providing you a spoiler alert, this evening. I DO however have questions on the living conditions of occupants in these cities. How many people are living below the poverty line and how does that directly relate to violence? Do we REALLY care about making ur world a better place and how can we help? What are local elected officials doing in each city to make a difference?

Those are just some thoughts that ran across my mind in looking at this. Check out the article from Business Insider by clicking the link below.
