{New Album Alert} Geechi Suede-0.9 NyteLife FM

Since I’m ALWAYS the last to know the dopeness in the hip hop world, I figured I’d ‘drop a Jewel’ and put you on with a new album from the legendary Geechi Suede. Suede is one half 90’s rap group, Camp Lo, who has done a mighty fine job of keeping the culture alive over the years. Check out the single Limozini and cop the new album 0.9 NyteLife FM, available on itunes here.

{The Drop} New Album Releases for May

Today, we take a moment and thank the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob, for the new music released in the month of May. I would be lying if I said there was a drought in groovy tunes over the past week, but this Friday the 13th was something I’ve been looking forward to. Check out what’s out there.

Corrine Bailey Rae- The Heart Speaks in Whispers

Bailey.jpg

I’ve been waiting and swooning for new music from Ms. Bailey Rae since she dropped The Love EP back in 2011. You can ALWAYS expect sultry, soulful, jazzy music from her that will carry you for years at a time. I’m a firm believer in artist taking their time between projects. I think it makes for better more authentic sound. I’ve been streaming this album for the past week via NPR’s site and Love Love Love it. I’ll be headed to my favorite record store to get my hard copy today.

Pierce The Veil- Misadventures

PTV_Misadventures_Cover_lo_1-350x350.jpg

Yaaaay! Metal fans unite and rejoice. Been a fan of these guys for a few years now after seeing them in concert with MayDay Parade and All Time Low. PTV bring a well needed metal/punk energy to my otherwise lower key playlist as of late. Excited to hear this.

Masta Ace- The Falling Season

Master Ace is back with The Falling Season, and I’m ready. I actually didn’t hear much about this album’s release until a buddy of mine put me on. With features like Your Old Droog and Torae, it should be a dope one. Get into some good Hip Hop this Friday the 13th.

Oddisee-The Odd Tape

Peace. This is another one I streamed on the NPR site and instantly fell in love with. Shouts out to the DMV as The Odd Tape will deliever jazz, soul and Hip Hop…the way it should be done. Looking forward to hearing great reviews on this one.

Meghan Trainor- Thank You

Meg.png

Thank You is Ms. Trainor’s second studio album and I’m excited. I think she makes good pop music and her career will go far. You’ve got to keep your playlist poppin and diverse, so give this a shot.

Some other albums that you might want to check out right now:

Cyndi Lauper- Detour

The Virginmarys- Divides

Chance The Rapper- Coloring Book

Let me know what you are currently listening to. Happy Friday the 13th.

{New Album Alert} Weezer (White Album)

The maker of the universe smiles on us today, as Weezer drops yet another self titled album! I’ve been a HUGE fan of Weezer for some years now (remember I’m of the ‘when MTV played music’ generation). In any event, I don’t see albums promoted as well as they used to,  and I was hoping for some new music to start my weekend. To God be the Glory.

Go ahead and cop the white album everywhere good music is sold and check out their summer tour dates on weezer.com. I’ll see you there.
