[Article] How I Healed From Crohns Disease

First, let me preface this by saluting everyone world wide who is fighting the good fight against crohns disease. I was diagnosed in 2015, after years of medication for a mystery illness affecting my joints, eyes, and skin. The disease affects everyone differently, and can be super difficult to cope with. I came across this article/blog by Meghan Telpner on some tools she used in her healing journey. There is no cure for crohns (they say), but I believe in the healing and transforming of lives through the human spirit and the power of the most high God. Check out the article, and notice how much of these practices could be beneficial to your everyday life regardless of your situation. Spread light! #DoItNow

Article:The Dark Side of Meditation

Well damn…I can honestly say I’ve never considered the art of meditation having a dark side. I think we often consider mindfulness and being in the ‘now’ to only creative positive results. Time and common sense however, will remind us that everything is not for everyone. Check out this interesting article from Spectator Health about meditation and its darkside. Please let me know your thoughts as well.

Article: Waking Up From Religion

Religion is one of those things that everyone has an opinion on. I often hear people refer to themselves as spiritual but not religious. However, I think that religion has gotten a bad name over the years as we have watched loonies kill in the name of God. Hell, the people’s temple had folks killing themselves and their children in the name of God. There is undeniably a need for humans to belong to something…believe in something.

I don’t see the problem with religion. The argument I’ve heard against Christianity is that the bible was written to ‘control the masses’. I say this: the bible gives great guidelines and morals on how you should operate in this life. Many of these morals are followed by DECENT people, not just Christians! I think we all can agree that ‘Thou shall not Kill’ is reasonable. At this point, I don’t see how religion ‘controlling people’ is any different than how media is ‘controlling the masses right now’.

I understand why some would rather be classified as spiritual and not religious…But if you’ve paid attention to anything I’ve ever blogged about, you know where I stand. LEAVE PEOPLE ALONE. TO EACH HIS/HER OWN. I also feel like saying ‘I’m spiritual’ is trendy at this time so…*shrug*

In any event, this is a dope article by Nanice Ellis. Check it out below.
